April 7

We've been busy getting Manol's webisodes done but now we have 4 in the can and one more coming up. Check them out on the links located on the right column of this blog.

The original episode 1 (which is now the Prelude episode) has been revamped with better font and text color to improve readability.

Stay tuned because we've got some exciting Machinima (creating movies with game engines and assets) cooking for the last part of this term. Should be a great way to finish up the course.

Until next time!

February 27

We're back after President's holiday and the madness that is the Game Developer's Conference in SF.

It's been awhile since the last posting so lots to update.  Our first team video blog is live on youtube.  Just click on the video links on the right side of this blog to access it.  Well worth watching especially the two audio commercials we put together inbetween team member interviews.

So, biggest news since last posting was Mike's  status on the team.  He got a testing gig at EA so he won't be a full-time member of the team.  That means we now have Albert, Christian, Allyn and Manol.  Truly guerrilla!

Anyway, that means unfortunately that the adventures of Suzie will have to wait another day. We might get the final video trailer someday from Mike but until then, we're moving on.

We've got two new IP's in the works.  Watch our video blog for more details.

We're hoping to increase our rate of project completions so keep your eyes on this blog.

Jan. 30

Manol finished putting together the audio tracks and sound fx to the audio trailer.  He helped record voicelines for the video trailer and he'll be putting that together for Monday.

Christian wrote the script for the video trailer and recorded his lines along with Allyn, Albert and special guest voice actor Sarah Fox.  He also did some video recording and took photos during the recording session.

Mike finished the flash animation for the video trailer and has passed that onto Manol for reference.  He's working on character style sheets.

Albert updated the dev blog and also worked on a special parody intro for the video trailer for Monday.

We're starting to look beyond the trailers and planning will start on the various media projects starting Monday.

Jan. 28

Manol is putting together the audio we recorded last week for the audio trailer.

Christian and Allyn showed us their Unreal Tournament 3 levels which could be repurposed for as virtual sets for future video content.

Mike's working on animatics for Manol so he has reference for audio.

Albert's updating the dev blog.

GM08 Week of January 21

We're back after the MLK holiday!

Allyn and Christian are recording lines for the upcoming audio trailer. Manol is checking the session out in the audio recording studio. We're hoping to have all the voicelines recorded today and get the audio trailer edited today or by next Monday.

Mike is busily sketching out storyboards and concepts for Manol to score music and effects for.

Albert's updating the dev blog and trying to find a home for the audio podcasts so we can submit to iTunes.

Onwards and upwards!

Suzie McFannigan

This is Suzie McFannigan. She's a badass space orphan out to save the last of her people from the greatest threat this side of Pegasus II.

...and she's Irish.

GM08 Week of January 14

This is the development journal for the first Guerrilla Media class of Cogswell Poly. Thus far we are working on an original IP of Mike Sandborn's creation about a renegade orphan bounty hunter in space out to rescue the last of the human race. Mike is drawing up concept art and the rest of us are busy creating web pages, blogs, pod casts, and old timey radio shows based on the characters and universe.

At this point there are only four of us in the class (possibly even three). Unfortunately, that is too low of number to sustain the class. Unless we can recruit at least one more person into the class, we may be forced to shut down the class. In the next week or so we will be working hard to persuade anyone who has a free time slot to consider joining the class. Aside from just gaining the necessary numbers to keep the class afloat, additional ideas and perspectives from new students would only help the class and projects.
